1. Purpose & Philosophy
WhisperField is built on the principle of digital impermanence. Unlike platforms that archive content indefinitely, we believe that some conversations are meant to be temporary.
Nothing shared here is meant to last. Our 48-hour lifespan ensures that thoughts can be expressed freely without creating a permanent digital footprint.
2. What Gets Deleted
After exactly 48 hours from the moment of posting, the following data is permanently and irreversibly erased:
- All posts: Original anonymous thoughts shared by users
- All replies: Responses to existing posts
- Topics and categories: Organizational metadata
- Timestamps: When content was posted
- Associated metadata: Any system data linked to the content
- Moderation flags: Reports and moderation history
Deletion Timeline
3. No Backups, No Archives
To ensure complete deletion, WhisperField maintains a strict no-backup policy:
- No backups: We do not maintain backups of user-generated content
- No archives: There is no archive system or hidden storage
- No recovery: Once deleted, content cannot be restored under any circumstances
- No exceptions: This applies to all users, including administrators
Irreversible Deletion
When content reaches its 48-hour limit, it is permanently erased from all systems. This process is automated and cannot be reversed by anyone—not users, moderators, or administrators.
4. User Responsibility
By using WhisperField, you acknowledge and accept:
- Temporary nature: All content has a maximum 48-hour lifespan
- No permanence: Do not rely on WhisperField for long-term storage of information
- External saving: We cannot control if users save, copy, or screenshot content
- Third-party reproduction: WhisperField is not responsible for content reproduced outside our platform
- Timing awareness: Be mindful of when content was posted relative to its deletion time
If you see something meaningful you want to remember, save it immediately. Once it's gone from WhisperField, it's gone forever.
5. System Integrity
The auto-deletion mechanism is enforced at the system level to ensure consistency and reliability:
- Automated enforcement: Deletion occurs automatically via scheduled system processes
- No manual override: Administrators cannot stop, delay, or reverse deletions
- Consistent application: All content follows the same 48-hour rule without exceptions
- System reliability: Multiple safeguards ensure deletion occurs as scheduled
- Transparent process: The system logs when deletions occur (without storing content)
6. Policy Changes
While the 48-hour deletion period is fundamental to WhisperField's design, we reserve the right to make changes to this policy:
- Duration adjustments: The deletion timeframe may change in future versions
- Mechanism updates: Technical implementation may evolve
- Notification: Significant changes will be announced on the platform
- Grandfathering: Existing content will typically follow the policy in effect when it was posted
Any changes to the deletion policy will be reflected in an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
